This is really a serious problem of ours today, “ours” not just the government, not just the rich ones, not just the Filipinos but all the people around the planet. As we can see, earth’s temperature rises day after day. And also causes abnormal climate change. So what is the cause of Global Warming? Let’s specify it one by one.
- Carbon Dioxide from Power Plants – burning fossil fuel to generate electricity.
- Carbon Dioxide Emitted from Cars – carbon monoxide and hydro carbon comes from the burning gasoline from spark ignition vehicles.
- Smog – from diesel fuel vehicle.
- Nitrous Oxide - fertilizers use in agriculture, vehicle with catalytic converter.
- Methane – also derive from burning of fossil fuel.
- Deforestation – has a major role in carbon dioxide exchange process.
- Burning of Non-Biodegradable materials – black smoke from some plastics, styrofoam and other non-biodegradable materials.
What can we do to stop it? Actually there are a lot of things but first we need to start it to our selves.
- Segregate materials from biodegradable to non-biodegradable.
- Do not burn non-biodegradable materials.
- Recycle biodegradable materials such as newspapers, carton box or even greeting cards.
- Check your vehicle if it causes pollution. Go to authorized emission testing center to examine your vehicle.
- Plant a tree today or if you can’t don’t cut one.
These are the little things we can do for our planet, not just for the planet but also for all of us. Little things matter.
